It has always been problematic to maintain long distance relationships. They are more difficult to keep alive and well than when your romantic partner is just down the street or within easy reach but modern technology has made it a heck of a lot easier to keep in touch.

We have email, cellphones, landline phones and between them there is no reason not to stay in touch. When the one you love is miles away a quick ‘hello’ to tell them you love them though they are far away will help them to cope with problems and feeling lonely and that contact can help make the time apart less difficult and help keep you close even when you are far apart.
